After the ’Fregehaus’ in the center of Leipzig was sold, the Civic Movement Archive was moved to the ’Haus der Demokratie’. In 1990, civic movements in Leipzig occupied this building, which had been the seat of the SED city leadership. Today, the building is home to numerous social, political and cultural initiatives.
